World map route guide

Heartopia world map guide: all main areas, NPC spots, wild animals, fishing, and foraging

Use this page like a player route sheet. It tells you which area to visit, what the area is good for, which trough or NPC to look for, and what to check before you waste a long walk.

Search the map notes before you start walking

This is the part I wanted the site to have: click a dot, filter a category, or search an NPC/animal/resource. It is not a full replacement for the live map, but it helps you decide where to go first.

Pick your goal and follow the route

This is written the way I would actually use it in-game: one goal, a short route, and a reminder about what not to waste.

1. Main areas overview

Heartopia’s map is easier when you split it into repeatable loops. Most exploration areas are about the activity you want to do, while DG level gates mostly affect hobbies, events, and unlock systems.

AreaWhat it isKey things to checkBest route use
HomeYour personal starting plotGardening, tree chopping, mining, decorating, storageStart and end here to empty your bag.
Central TownMain social and shop hubDorothy clothing, Bob furniture, Pet Store, inventory helpDo notices, shops, and NPC errands first.
Fishing VillageCoastal and sea-fishing areaBill, sea fishing event, Shiitake mushrooms, Sea Otter troughRun when you want fish, coastal resources, or sea otter checks.
ForestLarge nature exploration areaBamboo, Jump Puzzle route, Forest Lake, Panda, Sika DeerUse for animal, bamboo, lake, and collection routes.
Flower FieldMeadow and windmill regionMeadow Lake, Tranquil River, Alpaca, Fox, flower routesBest paired with flower breeding and river fishing.
Onsen MountainsHot spring and highland regionGeysers, Capybara, Oyster mushrooms, mountain lakeUse for mountain resources, hot spring checks, Doris/weather routes.
Player note: use bus stops whenever possible. The map is cozy, but walking across every area without a route burns time fast.

2. Wild animal trough locations

Wild animals are worth tracking because the trough location matters more than a vague area name. Feed them daily when you are building friendship or trying to unlock more interactions.

3. Key NPC locations

NPC pages should tell players where to go and why the NPC matters. Some NPCs are static shop or hobby characters, while others move and should be checked on the in-game map.

Dynamic NPCs

Albert Jr.

Gold merchant style NPC who can move during the day. Check the in-game map icon before you walk there.

Roaming Oak

A moving tree NPC that may appear near home plots and can provide rare Roaming Oak Timber. Check daily.

4. Doris, the traveling weather merchant

Doris is one of the most interesting map checks because she depends on weather. She can sell exclusive recipes, ingredients, cosmetics, or furniture, so it is worth checking the map whenever the weather changes.

WeatherWhere to checkNotesPlayer move
Rain or snowfallArt Street districtLook around market-style streets and bridge areasCheck after rain starts before long farming.
Rainbow after rainBase of the rainbowRainbow spawn can vary by map positionRainbows are often reported around evening server timing, so watch the forecast.
Meteor showerNear meteor impact sitesOften associated with Onsen Mountain or highland-style routesScan the map and highland areas before doing other chores.
Player note: use the Watch app forecast and map icons. Doris is easy to miss if you keep farming after a weather change.

5. Fishing spots

Fishing route pages work best when they tell players where to stand and what type of route the area supports. Always match spot choice to weather, time, and target fish.

Fishing Village

Main coastal fishing area. Use it for sea fish and sea-event checks.

Onsen Mountain Lake

Mountain lake route for unique lake/highland catches.

Forest Lake

Forest region water spot near the Sika Deer route.

Tranquil River

River route in the Flower Fields area.

Rosie River

Convenient river near home plots and daily loops.

Target conditions

If a fish needs dawn, night, rain, or cloudy weather, let the condition choose your route.

6. Foraging locations

Foraging is easiest when you attach each resource to a route you already run. Do not cross the map just for one mushroom unless you also need nearby fish, NPCs, or animals.

8. Navigation tips

  • Bus stops: use fast travel points around major areas such as Meadow Lake and Forest Lake instead of walking everywhere.
  • In-game map: open the upper-left map to confirm area names, icons, and moving NPCs.
  • Teleport home: use the Watch menu when you need to reset, store items, or stop a long route.
  • Compass: follow quest compass hints when you are doing story or NPC tasks.
  • Route rule: match the route to current weather and time before hunting fish, bugs, or birds.
